Third update
We have been working hard. I heard that Minnesota got 12 inches of snow. That is hard to believe because yeaterday I was sweaty and completely burnt. Today our team split up into four groups so we could get to all of 19 care points at the end of the week.
It was an especially hard day for Levi and I because we realy connected with a little boy that melted our hearts. He was five and was an awesome dancer who was facinated by levis facial hair. When we had to leave He went limp. I cried the whole way come thinking that I would probably never see him again and what he had to go home to.
Today in the middle of our activities there was a huge thunderstorm that was us out. The children here are terrified of lightning because many people have died from it because everyone walks as a form of transportation.
Overall seeing hundreds of dying and sick kids over and over again has broken our team down. It has made us lean on Gods strength more than ever. There have been times where I am sitting holding two or three babies in the midst of a sea heated kids and I find myself getting angry at how unfair they have it. I get angry at how the darkness of this world is winning in Africa but I know god is in control at the same time. This trip has grown my faith.
STUDENTS: thank you for your info on club feet. I have given out some of your beauiful bracelets and the kids are absoletly thankful and honored to receive them. It is as if they are a golden treasure. If you could research or look up info on why the children have huge bellies. I know part of it is because starvation but I have heard it is because worms are taking over their intestines. Tons of these little ones show symptoms of HIV especially thier skin. It is sad because when they go to the face painting station the paint won't work. I miss you carol and class. I love you!
